Taylor's path to filmmaking was inspired by his Filipino uncles, one a photographer and the other a filmmaker. Embarking on a self taught career in film his path eventually led to Los Angeles, where he worked for Diesel Films. As an Editor and Associate Producer, his work on the National Football League’s “NFL UP!” series was awarded a 2013 Sports Emmy for Outstanding New Approaches. Working as a Video Producer for the University of Washington he started honing his craft for making short documentaries and marketing content. Developing his personal work, his film “Through the Ground Glass” received a Vimeo Staff Pick award, garnered viral success, and became an official Seattle International Film Festival selection in 2014. As a freelance director and cinematographer, Taylor has created films for major commerical brands including Amazon, Microsoft, Salesforce, Nike, the NFL and Starbucks. Furthering his personal work, his film "Medieval Martha Stewart" became an official selection for SIFF, PDXFF, and won TFF’s Best Regional and Local Audience Choice awards in 2018. Taylor's most recent film "The Racing Line" was nominated for Best Short Documentary at the 2023 International Motor Film Awards. He's currently in post production on his first feature, “Two Medicine”, a film that explores the life of a family from the Blackfeet Tribe who has experienced generational healing while pursuing their tradition of competing in Indian Relay Racing.
